Trash & Compost
A mummified apple core represents a vanitas in itself. There is not always the need for a skull to allegorize the transience of life. Compost and trash are perfect to serve as memento mori – if we only manage to appreciate them the way we would a relic or a ready-made. In this regard, everything is a question of perspective.
